Happy Many More Returns to M.J

This is what she wrote after turning a year older yesterday.

Today, I thought of many things I would love to have as birthday gifts and the many dreams I am still pursuing. In all of this I’m not losing sight of the fact that if not for God I might have ended up on the street like the many kids and young adults begging for food and some prostituting to make ends meet. If we know the circumstances that force some of these people on the street, we would spare a thought for them. I am where I am today purely by the grace of God and the grace of people who believed in me from the word go.
Recently, I was at the Boys Reform Home, Oregun, Lagos, the discussion I had with the principal Mr. Kotun and much later with the Special Adviser in charge of allremand homes in Lagos set me thinking about the boys and girls on the street. They have dreams too. Can they fulfill those dreams on the street? The answer will likely be no; because I won't be where I am today if I ended up on the street.

For this reason, Mercy Johnson Foundation will be doing a lot to get kids off the street. We are not asking people for money or donation, I will do all I can with the resources God has given me, and with the support of my husband to help get these kids off the street and set them on the path where they can begin to pursue their dreams. I want to plead with people, fans, friends and colleagues to spare a thought for the children on the street. We can begin by educating people around us, parents, the children and people in charge of children (Oga-house help relationship, teacher-student relationship, and others) on the need to treat every child like the future of Nigeria depends on it. And truth be told, our future will not be all that enjoyable if we let the scourge of ‘street-children’ fester. By then, the rich will begin to cry.  I learnt Lagos State Government has 11 homes where most children picked from the streets are kept, reformed and reunited with their families after counseling.

That is an initiative Mercy Johnson Foundation will be supporting and beyond that we will be going to different states to help spread the message-Get kids off the street, save the future. From tomorrow, I will begin to replay some of the lessons I learnt at the boys’ reform home and we all can contribute to getting the kids off the street.

I am grateful to everyone that has sent in a birthday message, tweet and gifts. Thank you and God bless you.
Mercy Johnson Okojie

Happy Many returns mama Purity, happy many returns to my mom from another country...
I so loved what M.J wrote on her birthday....
If there is anything i would love to do is what she is doing..
Inshallah!!!!!

My Birthday Prayer

Thank you, God, for giving me another year of life.
Thank you for all the people who remembered me today in any how.

Thank you for all the experience of this past year;
for times of success which will always be happy memories,
for times of failure which reminded me of my own weakness and of my need for you,
for times of joy when the sun was shining,
for times of sadness which drove me to you.

Forgive me
for the hours I wasted,
for the chances I failed to take,
for the opportunities I missed this past year.
Help me in the days ahead to make this the best year yet,
and through it to bring good credit to myself,
happiness and pride to my loved ones,
and joy to you.
For i pray this in Jesus's name....Amen.
Many thanks to my special friends who remembered my birthday just as (00:01) clicked.....i have had so much love from you and just want to say that may that love that you have showered me with go back to you as well....this goes to (J.K,L.O,P.K&S.W),,,
Love..

Love rivals sign contract to share one woman

Mr Steven Mwendwa, one of the two husbands who have agreed to marry one woman and undertake the conjugal rights on different occasions in this picture taken on 25 August 2013 in Kisaunition

the world will never stop to amaze me..
"Two men on Sunday agreed to share a woman in a written contract in which they vowed never to fight over her.
The pair from Kisimani in Kisauni, Mombasa County, made the deal after realising they have both been having an affair with the woman for more than four years.
Community policing officer Adhalah Abdulrahman said he came to know of the two during a fight. “I heard people fighting and went to check, but I was surprised to see two men fighting over a woman who is said to be a widow and a mother of twins. I tried solving the issue but they refused, each insisting he could not live without the woman,” said Mr Abdulrahman.
When asked to make a choice, the woman also declined, saying she could not live without either of the men. This made them agree to take turns to live with her.
Mr Sylvester Mwendwa, one of the ‘husbands’, said they decided to share the woman with Mr Elijah Kimani.''

Whereas polygamy — one man having more than one wife — is legal in Kenya and widely practised by various communities, polyandry — one woman having more than one husband — is almost unheard of.

The 5 Count down of why you are bad at whatever you are doing

5 Reasons You Are Bad At Whatever You Are Doing

Failure In all honesty, we are often bad at something because of us making tiny errors on a regular basis or perhaps we are just not cut out for it in the same way as some people are good at sports while others are just not as athletic. However, hopefully by reading these five reasons it will give you renewed confidence in what you do.
1. Failure to start with the basics.
We are often guilty of thinking that we already know the basics of something and this then leads to us skipping reading the instructions and just getting stuck into it. The problem here is that we are often slightly deluded and misjudge our own capabilities or see it as some kind of a weakness in having to go right back to the start.
Get the foundation wrong and you will continue to make the same mistakes and be completely unaware that there is anything amiss leading to you failing to improve over time.
2. We rush through it without too much thought.
Not taking time with the job and trying to just rush through it in order to get it done. The problem here is that we will often make the same mistakes time and time again, but due to the speed at which we are doing the task we will not even notice the mistakes and carry on regardless. The key here is to slow down a bit and try not to do too much in the one day and you will see an improvement in how you handle the tasks and will be better as well.
3. We do not practice and lack concentration.
Studies have shown that there are so many working hours lost in offices around the world due to people being easily side-tracked in a variety of ways or time wasted correcting mistakes that have come due to a lack of concentration. If your heart is not in whatever it is that you are doing it will then lead to errors not only being made, but also you missing correcting them. In order to improve our concentration we need to be focused and actually practice what we are doing. Accept that even top people in their field still practice, you only have to look at sports people, and there is no shame in it, so just do it.
 4. We allow our frustrations to get the better of us.
If you find that you are becoming frustrated it will often lead to you being bad at whatever it is that you are doing because as that anger builds and the adrenaline flows around our body it leads to the job or task getting the better of us. Instead, you need to look at ways to prevent yourself from becoming so frustrated and accept that things will not always go as smoothly as you hoped and when you master your mood it should hopefully lead to things becoming a lot easier.
5. We try to do something we have no real interest in.
Doing a job that you find laborious or boring will often lead to you being bad at it as you do not have the same kind of drive to complete it to the standard required and you will also care less about those small errors that creep into your work. By doing something you love, or at least have some kind of interest in, you will find that you can get better and have a willingness to learn and improve, but we need to have that desire inside us in order to make any progress. If you have no real interest in a particular type of job, then the best advice is to avoid it or if you hate golf, then avoid picking up those clubs or you will face an uphill struggle from the start

It did tell me something
Hope it tells you something as well..

My Best Friends' wedding..

Am sure some of my close people  must be wondering why i took so long to write anything about my bff wedding.
Well i took my time.
It feels different when your bff, the girl you have been with and grown up together leaving that life you still in, it gives you fear that the friendship between you is gone and feels like now you have lost your bff and that no more can you share the "crazy and whatever things you used to share"..
Well, well...
Am happy about the decision she made in her life....
Am sure she feels complete, loved and the most important part is that she has her own family now.(cant wait to be an aunt)
Bff,
Your wedding was a training ground for me,
Had the most wonderful experience and at least now i know the hustles involved in weddings.I never had a clue...(just happens than am not into events so much)
We shared the headaches and though at times it felt like nothing was going right but everything well.
I got one word for you"that is love your husband with all your heart and learn to fix things where they break, as nothing is thrown away when it breaks
My shemeji Poo..
"please always make my bff, happy and beautful, mantain that happy face of hers and etc etc"
Wishing you a happy marriage..

With Love.

Kutoka Facebook

Hii nimetoa facebook,
Eti kun ukweli ndani yake???

Kauli 8 ambazo mwanamke akizitoa
jihadhari sana

What i learnt from Bradley Manning case...

Bradley Manning as a child - courtesy of Kevin Fox - and in uniform at his hearing

Been following up on this headline case of this soldier, and i just find it interesting,,,
Manning was quoted,,
"When I chose to disclose classified information... I did so out of love for our country and a sense of duty for others. If you deny my request for a pardon I will serve my time knowing that sometimes you have to pay a heavy price to live in a free society.

Well wont write more and deeply but just loved this quote from him not in the perspective of his case but it got me into thinking, when we give out classified information about something do we do it out of love for others or do we do it for our benefit?/or do we do it to damage others??
think about it.

So who is this guy and what has he done..
Bradley Manning(25) is a US soldier who got convicted of handing a trove of secret government documents to anti-secrecy website Wikileaks and has been sentenced to 35 years in prison.
The US soldier jailed for leaking thousands of classified documents to Wikileaks of which this leaked information has caused significant embarrassment to the US government, and its officials have said the disclosures damaged America's relations with its allies and disrupted the war effort in Afghanistan

heheh...for more info about this story please visit http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-23784288....

As much as we love giving info to others think well...
Think of the outcomes of that "classified data"

Michael Scofield gay?????????

Wonders shall never end ouh....
Girls..
Did you like/love Michael Scofield...
Tell me honestly, how many fell in love with prison break just because of this guy???
Uwiii, God forbid ouh, until i nicknamed someone "Scofield" hehehe.....
well it turns out that...
Wentworth, who played the lead character Michael Scofield(41) in Prison Break came out as a gay man yesterday August 21 via an open letter to the Saint Petersburg Film Festival, rejecting an invitation to attend a premiere there because of Russia's recently-passed anti-gay laws.

The letter content written by Michael"
Thank you for your kind invitation. As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes. However, as a gay man, I must decline.
I am deeply troubled by the current attitude toward and treatment of gay men and women by the Russian government. The situation is in no way acceptable, and I cannot in good conscience participate in a celebratory occasion hosted by a country where people like myself are being systematically denied their basic right to live and love openly.
Perhaps, when and if circumstances improve, I'll be free to make a different choice.
Until then. Wentworth Miller

The beauty in the Morning greetings.

Among the texts i received this morning was from my beloved dad.
It was just a four word text "Good day daughter"
It meant a lot to me.
It gave me joy.
It made me smile.
It blessed my day..
Morning greetings always have a big impact on my day.
I always feel happy being greeted in the morning, makes me feel "cared" from those i love.
I always appreciate the morning greetings as i believe that someone thought of me and is wishing me well on my day.
I hope everyone finds time to say hello to their beloved ones early in the morning...
It beautifies the day...

Well Good morning world.
I hope you have a good day...

Some Slogan that my ears hate.

I happen to hate this slogan of

 "mwanamke akiwezeshwa anaweza"

Today i met this one too,,,

"Promote women – but not the wrong ones"

They make me feel that women are "helpless", they cannot do anything independently without being helped, that they have to be promoted...
I believe in the power of a woman, i believe that I dont have to be promoted but I can do it by myself, independently....

 "Mwanamke anaweza hata bila kuwezeshwa"

Ladies do you have anything to say about this????

Shoplifting to hair-lifting!!!!

A Venezuelan gang has turned to holding women at gunpoint in order to steal their hair

Woiiii...Please come steal my african hair,, like where do you get an african"Bush man's" hair style in the saloon???mmmh....

Wonders shall never end...

It never crossed my mind that their could be hair theft until one of my friends"a phillipino"told me of her hair being targeted by a "hair thief"..

Eeh decided to ask google , and this is what i got....

"A group of Venezuelan thieves that calls itself 'The Piranhas' has turned its attention away from purses and pocketbooks, by holding women at gunpoint in order to steal their hair.
In Maracaibo, Venezuela's second largest city, the gang is targeting women whose flowing locks, once removed, can be made into natural hair extensions and sold to beauty salons.
The robbers operate by holding their victims at gunpoint and ordering them to tie their hair into a ponytail, before removing it with a razor blade.
Top quality stolen hair can fetch the equivalent of £200."The demand for hair extensions has risen by 30 per cent since the crimes started. The market is more competitive now. We judge the hair on its tone, condition and colour", said one beautician.

Ladies beware...those extensions you put in your heads some are stolen hair,,,

When we let the thinking of others guide our ears.

In today’s world communication is the buzzword. Technology has filled our lives with gadgets, from the ubiquitous mobile phone to mass media and the internet with its world of e-mail and social media.

With so much to talk through, why do we still get it so wrong in our communication with one another? Part of the answer lies in our failure to recognise an important principle in communication — most of the time, we hear through others’ ears, not just our own...

The Way Foward...
One, we need to accept the fact that this second set of ears is important. In fact, it is a natural thing for all human beings to pay attention to this second set.
Sometimes we ask for opinions directly, other times it is the “group think” of the people we associate with and at other times, it is a response to our loud thinking and musings. The proven fact is that it influences our daily decisions even when we have not sought it.
Two, it is not the authority. We remain the authority in our decision-making because we will ultimately bear the consequences of our decisions. Wisdom demands that we have a third ear, which is our own judgement, together with the input of trusted sources.

Three, recognise that influence is built into relationships, not merely an instant like the hypothetical one presented above. We should, therefore, be careful about who we confide in because that person is the second set of ears.

From Egypt

Egypt has declared a month-long state of emergency after scores of people were killed when security forces stormed protest camps in Cairo.

I Feel bad for the Egyptians..
This is briefly how bad it is.Supporters of Egypt's ousted President Mohammed Morsi in the eastern Nasr City

Map of Rabaa camp

The health ministry says 149 people were killed - but the Muslim Brotherhood, which was behind the protests, says more than 2,000 died.
The state of emergency is scheduled to last for a month. It imposes a curfew in Cairo and several other provinces between 19:00 local time (17:00 GMT) and 06:00.
Armoured bulldozers moved deep into the main protest camp outside Cairo's Rabaa al-Adawiya mosque shortly after dawn on Wednesday morning.
Officials say another protest camp, at Nahda Square, has been cleared and a mopping-up operation in the surrounding streets was under way.
Reporters described wounded protesters being treated next to the dead in makeshift field hospitals.
The 17-year-old daughter of leading Muslim Brotherhood figure Mohamed el-Beltagy was among the dead, reports say. Asmaa el-Beltagy was shot in the back and chest, her brother said.

OOuh God this is really bad.
I hope this ends so soon.
