What Oprah says about her and Marriage!!!

Is Marriage a must or it is a wish??
Wonder why people really get headache when they think about this..
Yes maybe it is not as simple as I think or it is not hard as i think, but well to me, i think it better happens at the right time regardless of the age or time..
I don't approve when people start asking other people like when are they getting married and the sort of questions,
Everyone has his/her own plans, everyone has been given a sense of decision making, let him/her exercise this out of his/her free will,,it is good to advice but not pressurize anyone concerning this!!!!

Oprah says this;
When asked if she would leave earth as a “never-married” woman, Oprah made her feelings very clear. “Yes,” she told Access Hollywood. “Yeah, I think that’s my final answer.”

“I think that it’s interesting that you would ask it because I thought about it again at Tina Turner’s wedding. Because Tina was like, ‘Oprah, you need to do this. You need to do it.’ I was just thinking, ‘Well, OK, would things really be different?’ And no, I don’t think so. If you ever interviewed him (Stedman), he would tell you that had we married, we would not be together today, because he’s a traditional man and this is a very untraditional relationship.”
Oprah also explained that she couldn’t be a wife because the word holds responsibilities she doesn’t feel capable of handling.

actress Oprah Winfrey 59, has been dating Stedman Graham, 62, since 1986. That's 27 years - longer than a lot of marriages.

lol Oprah!!!!

But amongst all, remember to put God first!!let His Word be your guider...

I loved this verses and i hope they will talk to you as well, i believe if we are to listen and understand and put into practice what is being instructed here, we will be better people!!!!

Ephesians 4:26-30

26 “In your anger do not sin” Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, (we are asked to be slow to anger)
27 and do not give the devil a foothold.
28 Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.
29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Day of Terror in Kenya!!!

A standoff at an upmarket shopping centre in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, is in its second day.At least 59 people were killed and 175 injured in Saturday's attack .
A number of hostages and an unknown number of attackers remain trapped inside as security forces try to end the siege.
Joe Lenku said 1,000 people had managed to escape from the Westgate centre after the assault by suspected al-Shabab militants.
The Somali militant group al-Shabab says it carried out the attack on the upmarket shopping centre in response to Kenyan military operations in Somali. There are about 4,000 Kenyan troops in the south of Somalia, where they have been fighting the militants since 2011.Al-Shabab, which is part of the al-Qaeda network, has repeatedly threatened attacks on Kenyan soil if Nairobi did not pull its troops out of Somalia
In a televised address on Saturday evening, Mr Kenyatta said: "We shall hunt down the perpetrators. We shall get to them and we shall punish them for this heinous crime."
He said he had "personally lost family members in the Westgate attack".
Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta is due to address a news conference.
Security experts are reported to have warned that the Israeli-owned complex was in danger of being subjected to a terror attack.

From Rancor to Restoration

What do you do, when your brother/friend/neighbor offends you or does something that is not good????
Most of us either keep quiet and go say it to someone else,,keep quiet and start hating the individual,,or we decide to shut em out of our lives!!!
Well here is what the Bible teaches us how to go about it when we face a situation like that!!!
“‘If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone’” (Matt. 18:15, NKJV).
As the number of people involved in a conflict between two individuals increases, the more contention is created. People take sides, and the battle lines are drawn. But when Christians attempt to settle their differences privately, and in the spirit of Christian love and mutual understanding, a climate of reconciliation is created. The atmosphere is right for the Holy Spirit to work with them as they strive to resolve their differences.
There are times when personal appeals for conflict resolution are ineffective. In these instances Jesus invites us to take one or two others with us. This second step in the reconciliation process must always follow the first step. The purpose is to bring people together, not drive them further apart. The one or two who join the offended party are not coming to prove his/her point or to join in blaming the other individual. They come in Christian love and compassion as counselors and prayer partners in order to participate in the process of bringing two estranged people together.
Christ’s purpose is reconciliation. It is not to blame one party and exonerate the other.
A PIECE OF ADVICE FROM THE BOOK "GOSPEL WORKERS P.499"
“Do not suffer resentment to ripen into malice. Do not allow the wound to fester and break out in poisoned words, which taint the minds of those who hear. Do not allow bitter thoughts to continue to fill your mind and his. Go to your brother, and in humility and sincerity talk with him about the matter.”-Ellen G. White,
It is so important to live in harmony with others, it feels good when people are able to come to you and tell your faults rather than facing other people to tell em about you...
"word"!!!

What the Bible teaches us about Forgiveness!!!!

What is forgiveness? Does forgiveness justify the behavior of someone who has horribly wronged us? Is my forgiveness dependent on the offender’s repentance? What if the one with whom I am upset with does not deserve my forgiveness?

What the Bible teaches us about Forgiveness!!!!
It is the “goodness of God [that] leads you to repentance” (Rom. 2:4, NKJV). In Christ, we were reconciled to God while we were yet sinners. Our repentance and confession do not create reconciliation. Christ’s death on the cross did; our part is to accept what was done for us.
It is true that we cannot receive the blessings of forgiveness until we confess our sins. This does not mean that our confession creates forgiveness in God’s heart. Forgiveness was in His heart all the time. Confession, instead, enables us to receive it (1 John 1:9). Confession is vitally important, not because it changes God’s attitude toward us, but because it changes our attitude toward Him. When we yield to the Holy Spirit’s convicting power to repent and confess our sin, we are changed.
Forgiveness is also so crucial for our own spiritual well being. A failure to forgive someone who has wronged us, even if they do not deserve forgiveness, can hurt us more than it hurts them. If an individual has wronged you and the pain festers inside because you fail to forgive, you are allowing them to hurt you even more.
Forgiveness is releasing another from our condemnation because Christ has released us from His condemnation. It does not justify another’s behavior toward us. We can be reconciled to someone who has wronged us because Christ reconciled us to Himself when we wronged Him. We can forgive because we are forgiven. We can love because we are loved. Forgiveness is a choice. We can choose to forgive in spite of the other person’s actions or attitudes. This is the true spirit of Jesus.
Am blessed by this...

Goodbye is such a bitter gum...

The most easiest thing in this world is meeting people, you meet them and at the moment they have no effect on you,,,and as time go by and as you get closer to them you find things that you like about them, and as the journey goes on and on, you actually start admiring them and putting them in your heart...Then comes a moment when you feel that without them it feels so differrent, it feels like you are empty or not complete...
You just want them to stay.....

It becomes hard saying goodbye to them and what hurts the most is that at times you are forced to do that because of the circumstances ahead...
Why then was it the most easiest thing meeting them and why does it become the most hardest thing to bid em farewell???

Goodbye is such a bitter gum...

The Mind Matters

I really loved the lesson study of the SDA for week 11, 3rd quarter 2013....
It is tittled "Reformation:Thinking new thoughts"
This is how the mind works in the Bible perspective...

Our thoughts will ultimately dictate our behavior. The way that we think influences the way that we act. The converse is also true. Repeated actions influence our thoughts. The Christian is a “new creation.” Old thinking patterns have been replaced by new ones (2 Cor. 5:17).

When a sailboat embarks on its seaward journey, the sails are set. The set sails give the boat its direction. Throughout the journey, the sails need to be reset in order to maintain the correct course. If the sails are neglected, the boat will veer off course very quickly. Like those sails, our thoughts give direction to our spiritual lives. When the apostle Paul admonishes Christians to “set your mind on things above” (Col. 3:2, NKJV), he is urging us to focus our thoughts heavenward. Our minds are shaped by what we put into them. Our thoughts are molded by what we spend our time dwelling upon.
As we behold Jesus in His Word, we are changed. New thoughts replace old ones. By beholding Him, we become more like Him. “It is a law both of the intellectual and the spiritual nature that by beholding we become changed. The mind gradually adapts itself to the subjects upon which it is allowed to dwell. It becomes assimilated to that which it is accustomed to love and reverence. Man will never rise higher than his standard of purity or goodness or truth. If self is his loftiest ideal, he will never attain to anything more exalted. Rather, he will constantly sink lower and lower. The grace of God alone has power to exalt man. Left to himself, his course must inevitably be downward.”-Ellen G. White, The Great Controversy, p. 555.
Reformation is all about looking to Jesus. It is about Jesus filling our minds. It is about Jesus shaping our thoughts. It is about Jesus guiding our actions. When we behold Jesus, He will lead us to higher standards than mere rigidity to rules. We cannot really look to Jesus and remain the same. When we think His thoughts, we have only one desire, and that is, to do His will.

let your mind think of those that are good and positive...

12 Golden rules of Professionalism

I have realized that almost everyone wants to be called a professional, That’s good!
but do we really know what being professional calls for? once I had an opportunity of learning Ethics and professionalism and I used to like the subject just because of its definition, years later it came back to my mind during a team building session not long ago actually and the I realized that almost everyone named himself or herself a professional, That’s when I pressed a pause button and tried to research and think deeply how or what should I do for people to call me a Professional like what an American Politician said after many people asked him why he never wrote books of his great works he looked at them and said  ‘’ I perform great works and the whole world writes and makes history ‘’ that’s being professional !

Below are some of my research results.
  1. Being a Professional is not confirmed by advancing in knowledge but it is knowing how to share it proportionally, leaving everyone convinced and satisfied like they say in Portuguese ‘’Vencer e Convencer’’
  2. Being a Professional is giving discipline which shows the person what to do and how it’s done next time leaving a big smile on his face.
  3. Being a Professional Is not holding grudges liking or paying more attention to one than the other.
  4. Being a Professional is Setting a standard that even when no one is looking at you, it’s never broken.
  5. Being a Professional is Making people feel your presence and see your absence - usually people see our presence and feel absence this is all about the extra mile that you take which no one is usually prepared to.
  6. Being a Professional is Not me but the  us mentality – cutting through argument, debate and doubt by offering a solution that everyone can understand, they should all talk about you whenever there is success.
  7. Being a Professional is Doing your level best to be at peace with everyone. But always bearing in mind that it’s not possible to please the whole world.
  8. Being a Professional is not just doing your duty perfectly but is doing your best wherever need arises  in other people’s duties
  9. Being a Professional is Relating with everyone equally but leaving a professional distance so that you can motivate them and boost their self-esteem.
  10. Being a Professional is Using your resources proportionally i.e. listen, see and think twice as much as you speak.
  11. Don’t be quick to judge, or quick to anger or quick to get frustrated ‘’ Be Proactive’’
  12. Above all Being a Professional is Praying for God’s will to be accomplished in everyone around you, but through you.

Wow...thoughtful...
Thanks P.K  for sharing your gifted hand..
